Hello, and welcome to my personal site.

This site serves as my professional portfolio, with information about my background, work experience, credentials, research activities, and technical skills. It also serves as a professional blog where I can regularly publish articles on various technical subjects, particularly related to finite element analysis (FEA).

I am currently a Principal Software Engineer at StandoutVitae. I work on technologies across the entire stack, including back-end code, database architecture, cloud infrastructure, front-end UI, and web services. Prior to this I worked as a Senior Technical Project Manager for Amazon, specifically in their AWS business, leading research projects into various technologies that make Amazon's data centers smarter and more efficient. And before that I was a technical consultant and sales specialist at Dassault Systèmes working on their industry-leading Abaqus finite-element analysis software. My resume lists more details about my career.

In terms of academic qualifications, I have a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and Bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering from the same institution. My focus areas were (1) Computer-aided engineering, (2) Aerodynamics, and (3) Robotics & machine-vision. I also have a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Emory University. My focus areas during my MBA were (a) Private Equity and Venture Capital and (b) Entrepreneurship

When I'm not being a nerd, I enjoy hiking and traveling. I also recently became a father and every day is a new adventure (or disaster waiting to happen).

Anyway, do feel free to look around.

Gautam Puri
